Auckland Zoo wants the kids to take a journey through Asia these September school holidays. To teach children more about some of the zoo's Asian animals – the Sumatran tiger, red panda and Asian elephant – it will give each child their own passport to Asia, with activities to complete centred on these animals.
With their passport, children will be able to go through customs and journey to certain exhibits around the zoo to collect passport stamps.
Every day of the holidays, there will be special animal encounters, roving entertainment, and spot prizes to be won.
With two of the Sumatran tiger cubs and a red panda going overseas to take part in breeding programmes later this year, it will also be an opportunity for visitors to say goodbye.
