Slapstick hi-jinks and early special effects in the ever-popular local film "A Takapuna Scandal", a new train station, men returning from war and a nationwide housing shortage. With the introduction of sound we begin to hear, as well as see, events from Auckland's past.
This programme is accompanied by live music and screens as part of the Auckland Heritage Festival.
