Barbara Bailey's work is a response to her city surroundings. She says, "My studio has perfectly proportioned Georgian windows and my work reflects what I see through those windows" .

Bailey recently moved from Waiheke Island to Auckland City. This work is a response to her new surroundings. The small, unstretched, mixed media images are the size of the window panes. The work reflects what she sees through the windows, a distorted city, pink tinged in the morning and sparkly by night, the ferries slipping behind the gantries and herself mirrored.
