About Miho Wada: Well-traveled, classically-trained flautist. Studied in London and Cuba. Grew up in Japan. Has lived in Christchurch. Also plays sax and sings. Has toured with members of Buena Vista Social Club, Kotumba, Sones de Oriente, Ska Cubano.
About Tamashii. High-energy Japanese taiko drumming ensemble based in Auckland. Tamashii performs a blend of contemporary & traditional percussion pieces, and collaborates regularly with other artists.
About Atsushi & the Moisties: An Auckland-based six-piece that plays ska and reggae inspired by 1960-70s Jamaica. Influences include The Skatalites, Maytals, Heptones, Lyn Taitt and Harry J All Stars. Their horn section leads the melody, in place of a vocalist. Began as a solo project in 2003 and went to a full-band line-up in mid-2006.
