Heritage Festival K’ Road kicks off with a programme of free guided walks led by historian Edward Bennett. Take a guided tour of 100-year-old Grafton Bridge, make the most of a rare opportunity to take a peek inside some of the precinct’s most significant heritage buildings or join a tombstone rubbing workshop.

The Jewish Centennial Memorial Hall will also be open between Monday 20 and Saturday 25 September with an exhibition displaying early photographs of Grafton Bridge, K’ Road and Symonds Street Cemetery as well as images providing insight into nineteenth-century funeral practices.

The festival runs from 19 September – 3 October and bookings can be made at heritage@kroad.com or on 377 5086.
