Chartaphilia is not a real word, per se, but combines the Latin word for paper with the suffix, philia, meaning like or attraction. As a term, chartaphilia is meant to describe the affection that many people, especially artists, have for paper or in the case of this exhibition, art works on paper.

Chartaphilia will include drawings and prints, including portfolios and books, from The Suter Art Gallery Collection. Many of the techniques employed in the creation of these works of art may be observed during a special weekend workshop to be held on the last weekend of the exhibition.
