Live elite rowing action with plenty of free entertainment and family fun making the Gallagher Great Race a day the whole family can enjoy.

So why not have a Fathers Day brunch in town and then cheer on the two premier University of Waikato crews as they battle it out for supremacy against world-class international competition.

The penultimate race has the University of Waikato women racing against a top Australian University for the Bryan Gould Cup. This culminates in the ‘Great Race’ between the Waikato men and the University of Cambridge with the victorious crew being awarded the coveted Harry Mahon Trophy.

Race starts at Ann Street with the finish line and live entertainment at the Ferry Bank Landing, Grantham St.
