Auckland City buildings and landscapes are a major inspiration for Chen, whose quirky paintings of such landmarks as Auckland War Memorial Museum, Auckland Grammar School, the Ferry Building, and Customs House bring bricks and mortar to life with energetic brush strokes and unusual colours.
Most recently he has been working on a series of paintings covering landmarks & landscapes not only in Auckland but from around the country.
