Join the Friends of the Michael King Writers’ Centre to look through New Zealand’s first literary centre, set on the slopes of Mt Victoria in the historic Signalman’s House in Devonport.
Enjoy the views and the collection of literary memorabilia. Learn about the special history of the Signalman's House, the Signal Station and some of the history of Mt Victoria/Takarunga. Take in some of the other local sites, including Fort Victoria.
The centre is half way up the road to the summit of Mt Victoria/Takarunga in Devonport. Park on top of Mt Victoria or on nearby Kerr Street. There is limited parking on the summit road.
The open afternoon is organised as part of the North Shore Heritage Festival.
