As part of the North Shore Heritage Week the Devonport Museum will be open extended hours 11 am to 4 pm on Sunday 12th September. There is easy access to Museum which had an extensive exterior refurbishment in 2009.

A number of interesting films from the Museum Collection will be shown throughout the day including the "Royal Visit to Devonport 1953", "The Mystery of North Head", "The Devonport Experiment (1976)" and "North Shore Sea Girt (1927)". Indoor and outdoor activities for children will include a discovery quiz, colouring activity using local Devonport scenes, old coin rubbings, toy sailboats and wooden cars. Light refreshments will be available.
