The Zephyr ensemble, comprising 5 principal woodwind players from the NZSO will close Season Two of the Series in the Great Hall. Bridget Douglas (flute), Robert Orr (oboe), Phil Green (clarinet), Robert Weeks (bassoon) and Ed Allen (French horn) will play a diverse musical programme of quintets by Douglas Lilburn and Ken Wilson and finally a charming, disquieting early work by Luciano Berio called Opus Number Zoo.
Involving text as well as music, it is a theatrical piece that is fun and entertaining yet with a serious message. An unusual treat, it is sure to delight audiences.
