Juice TV presents emerging Wellington act, Supermodel, recently returned to NZ shores from recording their debut album in the UK, and are excited to announce an extensive NZ tour to celebrate their homecoming.
The hotly-tipped Wellington-based Brit pop and indie rock quartet are pumped to be back on stage after spending seven weeks recording in the legendary Modern World Studios in Tetbury, Gloucestshire, UK.
The album, produced by acclaimed Welsh record producer Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers, Opshop) and his engineer of choice, Clint Murphy, Supermodel's debut album is skyscraper high in sound and intent. Scheduled for release early 2011 and driven by lead singer/songwriter Mark Hanify's love of theatrical show-tunes, classic rock, the great crooners, and augmented by the use of full string section and choir arrangements will solidify Supermodel as a unique sound within the international music scene.
Following recording, Supermodel performed for Feed Me Music at the oldest live music venue in London, The 100 Club and won over a capacity audience from a stage previously graced by the likes of The Rolling Stones and The Sex Pistols. Following the show, Supermodel received multiple UK/European tour offers from prestigious industry attendees.
Now back in New Zealand and happy to be home, the band is busy preparing a tour de force level stage show for this September, when in association with Juice TV, they will hit the local touring circuit to follow up on the profile lift they made during an extensive, rapturously received national tour in May, just prior to their departure to the UK.
With bigger production values, bigger sound and a new live show, this September, at R18 and all-ages shows across the country, as well as some highly anticipated ski-field performances in the South Island, Supermodel will send you dreaming. Summer is on its way and this is one band that will be everywhere, you know you want to be able to tell your friends that you were there first.

They have all respectively been brought up with different musical backgrounds, and the personal influences they draw from their pasts has put a unique twist on their music, which is influenced from everything from bubblegum pop to black metal; with artists including Michael Jackson, Paramore and Taking Back Sunday.
Ashei have been well received by R18 and all ages gig-goers as well as promoters and industry representatives. Feedback is helping them to thrive and keep pushing to completely realize the rewards of their passion. Ashei are not only a band to look out for, but an entity that is sure to set crowds alight.
