CHART - Christchurchmusic.org.nz in association with Coffee Supreme, Al's Bar, Cosmic Ticketing and RDU 98.5FM is proud to announce CHARTDISC VOL. 4 the ‘New School vs Old School’ Edition 2010.

With our particular brand of musical roots in mind and nicely juxtaposed against the reformation of that seminal New Zealand record label Flying Nun, CHARTDISC Vol 4 ‘New School Vs Old School” celebrates all things independent and organic in this rapidly changing music world of downloading, commercialism and consumerism.

Raw, energetic and rebellious, the bands represented here are the future of guitar based goodness, as again Otautahi (Christchurch) rises to the fore, illustrating its diversity as a city and its ability to have a bloody good time. CHARTDISC Vol 4's release also coincides brilliantly with RDU98.5FM’s annual band competition, Round Up, which over the years has proven to be the breeding ground for many indie guitar bands in Christchurch, several of the tracklisted artists having been part of this successful and ongoing tradition in our local music scene. Tracks from O'Lovely, Bang Bang Eche, T54, The Transistors, Valdera, Sleepy Age and No ALoha vs The Undercurrents, Sexy Animals, Into The Void, The Cranks and How To Kill.

Join us at Al's Bar, Thursday 23rd Sept for a night of live music from some of ChCh's best indie guitar bands both young and young at heart. ‘New School Vs Old School, get the beers in and enjoy.
