A body of work which explores the engine valve as part of the artist's personal language. The valve is seen as a symbol of respiration; of life essence or ‘mauri’. The repetition of the valve in the work enables a ‘Manawa’, or rhythm, within the large, unstretched canvases.
This exhibition is part of the WelTec Year 3 final exhibition ‘Phew’. A representative show will also be held at Wellington WelTec campus from the 3rd of November. Opening at 6pm.
