Erica Lack is New Zealand born artist. Having studied animation in her early 20s she took inspiration from the multi plane camera developed in the 30s to create intricate multi layered hand cut paper dioramas.

Influenced by the landscape and fauna of Canada (where she briefly lived) and oral tradition folktales Erica creates pieces that look at subjects through or tangential to others. Filigree like detail defined by externally cast light and shadows brings these fragile paper worlds to life.
