Life's a Breeze - Windsurf Into Summer

The winds are stronger, the days are longer so it's time to get that windsurfer that's been lurking in your garage out. Check everything is still working and safe, and get back onto the water.

Starting with the Taranaki Wavesailing Classic, one of New Zealand's biggest and most social event on the windsurfing calendar, this week will feature a number of activities around the country to mark the start of the 'windsurfing season'.

Windsurfing clubs will be holding social activities to get existing and new members on the water. Your local club is the Taranaki Windsurfing Club.

If you've never tried the sport this is a good opportunity to join in, talk to people who will be only too keen to tell you about their sport and why you should give it a go. It's a sport for all ages (from 7 to 70) and abilities and it's never been easier to learn.

Windsurfing schools around the country are also gearing up for the summer. Check out your local school, see what they have to offer, and book your first lesson. In an hour or two you'll be wondering why you hadn't tried it earlier.
