An international physical theatre work, a family show that celebrates the life of one of New Zealand’s great dance teachers, a tango/contemporary work from Argentina and the from one of NZ’s renowned Dance Companies - Atimira Dance is remounting Taonga Dust Water Wind, especially for a tour in the South Island. With 6 internationally renowned dancers, accompanied by resonating taonga puoro master Richard Nunns and music composed by Paddy Free (of Pitch Black).
With bush clad hills to its back and the Southern Pacific Ocean spread out in front, the show takes us to Kaka Point - a place inhabited by natural magic. Set in 1934, the childhood memories of choreographer Loiuse Potiki-Bryant's Aunty Rona, are brought to life.
