Page and Blackmore Readers and Writers. Prolific writer Elizabeth Smither has published 15 poetry collections as well as five novels and five collections of short stories. She has gathered numerous awards including an MNZM, the Montana New Zealand Book Award for Poetry, an Hon D.Litt from Auckland University and the Prime Minister's Award for Literary Achievement in Poetry, 2008.
Elizabeth lives and works in New Plymouth. Her short, usually unrhymed, poems are described as ‘witty, stylish and intellectually curious’ (Oxford Companion to NZ Literature). Elizabeth is introduced by Nelson poet, Rachel Bush.
