The NZ Business Games are New Zealand's single largest business house event. In the past 15 years over 55,000 people have participated in the fun, that’s about 3,000 - 3,500 participants from 140 - 150 organisations every year. All those games and all that action makes for a lot of great stories over coffee or at the water cooler!

Like golf the aim of game is to have the lowest possible score and there will be no finals, winning teams are those with lowest score.

- Teams will win by; collecting as many opposition flags as possible, successfully defending their own flag, hitting the opposition and getting hit as few times as possible!
- Mixed teams of three
- 6 games per team of 10 minutes (max time 2 - 2.5 hours)
- Players do not get eliminated when shot, (i.e. everyone will have unlimited respawns for all the games). Instead a point is awarded to their team when a player is hit. (Marshals will be able to tell if a ball has hit a player or their equipment easily at end of each game).
- There will be up to 12 teams playing at one time slot, with teams in groups of up to 6
- The first game will be a fun game to get to know the field.

Where there is a business sector trophy up for grabs, teams will, where possible, play against each other in their business sector.

Points are awarded for the following:

- Your team is penalised with +1 point for every time a team member is hit.
- For every flag your team takes from the opposition and is hung on your flag poll your team will ‘score’ -10pts (deducted)
- Teams will automatically ‘score’ a further -10 points if you still have your flag at your pole at the end of the game
