Dr Adam Cox is a leading advocate in the United States for the social and emotional wellbeing of youth.
He has worked extensively with the International Boys’ Schools collation and is currently undertaking a research project in New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, England, Canada and the United States which is “aiming to establish the things that give significance and purpose in boys’ lives”. Over the past 12 months he has interviewed hundreds of teenage boys around the world, to find out what are the key motivators and driving factors for young males.
His presentation to the Hamilton community, jointly hosted by St Paul's Collegiate School and Southwell Preparatory School, will focus on “Building Boys' Communication, Connection and Capability”. He aims to give parents a better understanding into the social and emotional development of boys and provide them with knowledge and tools that better prepare them for the challenging task of parenting teenagers.
