Eastern Entertainment Ltd. proudly presents NRG Rising. Fresh female funky grooves. This original focused, energetic & driven band, NRG Rising, has been around in the music scene for less than a year & are already making heads turn, people talk & the right people sitting back just noticing as the rising swirl among the myriad of talented Aotearoa reggae artists active in the country.

NRG Rising is a 6 piece reggae band, and was founded in April 2009. Members of NRG Rising include Bevin Hira, Ngati Haua on bass, Benita Tahuri, Anahera-Pono-Whakatope (Ana), Harete Whariki Whakatope (Honey), all of Nga Tuhoi / Ngati Kahungunu descent & a mother & daughter combination of vocalist, Jason Davis, Ngati Haua, guitar, & Trinity Blake, Ngati Kahungunu. Rongomaiwahine takes his natural place in NRG ranks as drummer.

The song Summertime Party is their debut single with an album out before the end of 2010. The band's very first visit to Gissy.

With Mahuta upfront leading the vocals this group is ready to hit the mainstream NZ circut. They are hardout writing their own sound & are aiming to release their debut album early 2011. With father & sons trio Spider, Garth & Judah adding their hard-hitting sound together with Percy Robinson this group should promise an awesome night.

Percy has been performing, singing and touring with numerous local and international artists in New Zealand, Australia as well as overseas in a wide variety of musical contexts for most of his life. Percy’s main strengths are his soulful and versatile vocal abilities coupled with tasteful arrangements and treatment of tunes, which cover a wide variety of musical tastes. As well as this, Percy has developed his own personal, yet accomplished guitar-playing style.
