Grant Beran makes 'photochemical drawings', a process involving scratching and painting directly onto photosensitive paper, this process allows him to flip between the representational world of photography as an image of something and the world of the photograph as an 'object'.
Grant Beran puts it like this: 'Another question I keep coming back to is why should a photo just be a flat piece of paper with an image 'in' it'?
