NZTrio thrives on pushing the boundaries of classical music. Their exhilarating interpretations of the masterworks, committed performances of fascinating new pieces continue to impress audiences around NZ and the world.
Two masterpieces of the classical era form the book ends of NZTrio's programme - Haydn's lively Gypsy Trio kicks off the performance in vigorous style, while Beethoven's monumental and majestic Archduke Trio presides over the second half. New works from NZ and USA provide mesmerizing and intriguing contrast - Rachel Clement's wistful Shifting States evokes the delicate processes of glass making, and Jennifer Higdon's Trio portrays the colours of Pale Yellow and Fiery Red.
