Pops on Pipes - Wurlitzer Pipe Organ Show

Once again we introduce a new face to the Hollywood Wurlitzer organ console and Auckland audiences. Martin Ellis is one versatile musician, with fingers in many pies; classical organist, pianist, choral and orchestral arranger, and professional accompanist. In addition to his concert engagements, Martin is the senior staff accompanist for the prestigious Indianapolis Children's Choir and Youth Chorale, serving the advanced treble choirs and high school division. He is equally at home with the more popular music of the theatre organ and brings an exciting program to his premier tour of Australia and New Zealand. Guest Artist with Martin Ellis will be noted Auckland singer Lyndsay Freer and together they will present a selection of popular numbers.

Enjoy a true "Pops" program of music from the Light Classics, the 30s and 40s, the Shows and right on up to today.

See "close up" on the giant screen, the organist making music on this unique pipe organ complete with its own percussion section of drums, cymbals, piano, harp, xylophone etc. All real "live" percussion instruments - truly a one-man unit orchestra.
