The Rhythm of Light is a photographic convention hosted by the Auckland Photographic Society on behalf of the Photographic Society of New Zealand.
The comprehensive weekend programme includes presentations, workshops and practical field trips from eight of New Zealand's award winning photographers.
Keynote speaker is Canon EOS Master Chris McLennan who will share his experiences of combining two passions - travel and photography - that have made him the award winning photographer he is today.
Supporting Chris in sharing their knowledge are:
-- Geoff Dale renowned New Zealand press photographer and author;
-- Chris Morton is one of an elite group of photographers contributing to the UNESCO World Heritage Committee’s “Our Place World Heritage Project”;
-- Lisa Crandall has had photographic features in leading publications including Metro, NZ Life and Leisure, Her magazine, D-Photo and Photographer’s Mail. As well as hosting a portraiture workshop, Lisa will guide participants through a field trip covering ‘Time and Light’ – exploring options with slow shutter speed, slow synch, blur and painting with light;
-- Eva Polak approaches photography as that of a contemporary artist and uses her camera in much the same way an artist uses a paint brush. She will share her impressionism techniques in both a workshop setting and practical field trip;
-- Bruce Burgess has been photographing since he was 12 years young. He gained a Fellowship distinction with the Photographic Society of New Zealand in 2008 and has completed assignments for several international clients in recent years. He’s happiest when he’s photographing people, landscapes, travel, abstracts and photojournalism assignments;
-- Adam Baines will share the inner workings of life as a stills photographer, working as part of a film crew. He will also lead several field trips around Auckland City.
The convention is open to any enthusiastic photographer who wants to develop their own skills, meet other like minded enthusiasts and learn from the best.
Registration is now open. The full programme and registration form can be downloaded from the dedicated website: www.rhythmoflight.org.nz
