Wellington Repertory Theatre presents Black Adder II - The Early Tudors, by Richard Curtis, Rowan Atkinson, Ben Elton and John Lloyd. Directed by Ewen Coleman
Black Adder II - The Early Tudors is a true and japesome historie of Elizabethan England, regaling the tales of Lord Edmund Blackadder, Baldrick and Lord Percy, along with Queen Elizabeth I, Nursie, and Lord Melchett and an assortment of hobos, harlots, hooligans and whores. This Wellington Repertory Theatre production will combine four episodes of the TV series.
- Belles – Everything is reasonably normal for Edmund, the bastard great-great-grandson of the repulsive original, and his dungball servant and bird-brained dim-witted companion till he meets Bob…
- Money – Trouble is in store for Edmund when the baby-eating Bishop of Bath and Wells drops by unexpectedly and tries to shove a red-hot poker up places where a cotton bud would be kinder.
- Beer – An embarrassing incident with a turnip, an ostrich feather and a fanatically puritan aunt leads to a right royal to-do in the Blackadder household.
- Chains – Edmund is slightly inconvenienced when a fat-headed German chamber pot imprisons him in a box filled with iron spikes and leaves him to play charades with a crazed Spanish interrogator.
