A Night in Vienna

Bay of Plenty Symphonia presents A Night In Vienna. The concert will include some of the most memorable classics from the pens of Strauss and Strauss, Lehar, Brahms and Mozart. A selection from 'The Merry Widow,' 'Gold and Silver Waltz,' 'Tritsch-Tratsch Polka,' 'Die Fledermaus Overture,' 'Emperor Waltz,' Mozart's Haffner symphony and 'The Blue Danube Waltz' make up some of the programme.

The Symphonia will also present Bethlehem Strings, a talented and dedicated group of student musicians aged from Years 6-13 from Bethlehem College, Tauranga, who will perform an arrangement of an interlude from Brahm's 'Rhapsody in B minor, Op 79. no 1.'

To add to the special occasion of this last concert in the Symphonia's 35th birthday year, the musicians will be wearing evening dress and the audience is invited to do the same. For those who wish to really get into the spirit of Vienna, check out the glam in your wardrobes, the op shops, the costume hire, the amateur theatre wardrobe hire, etc., and let's all go to Vienna at Baycourt!
