Trout Fishing Tournament

A fun family-oriented weekend tournament with over $15000 worth of prizes to be won. The 2010 Tournament is a three day Tournament. First time entrants are welcome. There will be information and assistance available from Eastern Region Fish and Game at the Tournament for those new to trout fishing.

Competitors fish during the day, returning to the Tournament Headquarters at Arawa Park Function Centre, Fenton Street, each night to weigh-in and socialize. Quick fire raffles and lucky spot prizes are conducted throughout the evenings and daily prizes are presented for best catches of the day, including heaviest trout caught by a junior (under 16 years). All juniors receive a prize at the final prizegiving. Major prize for heaviest trout overall - a home stereo system sponsored by Harvey Norman.

Enter before 31st October to go in the draw to win the early bird prize, a Rotorua accommodation and activity package worth $650.

This tournament is organized by Rotorua East Lions Club and is a charity tournament with proceeds this year going to the Cancer Society's Lions Lodge, Hamilton.
