The Rotorua to Ohope Fun Ride is a popular event and has been held every year since 1991. The ride starts at the BMX track and leaves Rotorua following State Highway 30 passing the magnificent lakes Rotoiti, Rotoehu and Rotoma respectively. This road is reasonably undulating and very picturesque.
The course will take you all the way to Whakatane via Awakeri along the flats then on to a last climb over the Ohope hill and down to the finish 3km along Pohutukawa Ave at Ohope beach. Once you have finished you can enjoy a BBQ and drinks before prize giving. There will be $2,000 - $3,000 dollars worth of spot prizes given out
