Social historian and author Bee Dawson will trace the development of gardening in New Zealand. Drawing on research for her latest book 'A History of Gardening in New Zealand', Dawson will trace our story from pre-contact Maori gardens, to the optimistic efforts of missionaries, the magnificence of Victorian and Edwardian efforts, and the 'Dig for Victory' gardens of the 1940s.
Entry to the Rotorua Museum is free for Rotorua residents (with ID).
