The super stars are...
Scarlett Lashes and The Pseudo Dancers:
Scarlett Lashes is an electro cabaret diva who loves her dirty boys and her dirty girls. Scarlett sings trash about her past loves, her new loves, and her sweet cupcakes. Scarlett and her Pseudo dancers dance up a storm with the aid of guns, whips and always some lashings. Cold showers advised for after the gig
Scarlett tells a moral tale for the modern age… “cause 15 and half is still jail bait”.
Vostok Lake:
Vostok Lake is defined as the combination of low-budget keyboards, open-source software on a cheap laptop, and the dramatic, story-telling songs and performance of Daphne Lawless. Our slogan is "no guitars, no budget, no problem".
Vostok Lake balances finely-programmed synth-pop arrangements with goth-operatic vocals, prog-style keyboard improvisations, and a punk-rock love of performance chaos. The live act has been described as "Bonnie Tyler meets Keith Emerson", or, alternatively, "Yazoo meets The Skeptics meets Raw Sex... on speed."
Vostok Lake believes that in the 23rd century, all music will sound like this. You have not heard anything like Vostok Lake, nor do you know anyone who has.
"Angsty visions of Alastair Riddell and Bowie, Kate Bush on downers, a not-quite-so-histrionic Roger Waters" - Bing Turkby, NZ Musician
Cane of Punishment:
New Zealand's answer to the Beach Boys, Cane of Punishment mix complex vocal harmonies with melodic guitar, soothing rhythms and poetic lyrics. Cane of Punishment are available for your corporate event, cocktail party, children's birthday or any function big or small! With hits like "why do girls always run away from me?"
