Walk one - The Volcanic Walk:
Auckland has an amazing turbulent volcanic history resulting in many volcanic cones. The Auckland Volcanic Field is unique. Here at Mangere Bridge are three areas where volcanic activity has occurred. Mangere Mountain is one of the best preserved of these cones. Come and enjoy a guided walk provided by the Mangere Mountain Education Centre while learning about the geological events of our mountain.

Meet at Mangere Mountain Education Centre 15 minutes prior to commencement of walk.
Please wear suitable walking shoes. Bookings are essential
Walk two - The Maori History Walk:
Mangere Mountain once had a population of around 3000 people living on it. There is still much evidence of their occupation there. Come and discover the archaeological and cultural history of the Waiohua people who lived on the mountain. Mangere Mountain Education Centre will provide guided walks on the following dates:
