UK blues guitar maestro Lil' Ian Goodsman is coming back to NZ in November and will be playing gigs around the North Island.

Ian has been in the UK for a year playing in major festivals including the Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival in Colne, Lancashire along with Peter Green, Georgie Fame, Omar and the Howlers and Larry Garner - both of the US. This is the biggest festival in the UK . He is also playing in Singapore at the Crazy Elephant on the way to NZ.

He has performed in the UK, New Zealand, Singapore, Turkey and Greece and have been featured on TV in both the UK and New Zealand along with several radio performances. He has appeared on the same bill as John James, Steve Tilston, Duck Baker, and have opened for Dave 'Honeyboy' Edwards, Stephan Grossman and Andrew White. He currently has two CDs on release that are receiving airplay around the globe.

Some reviews:

"An excellent guitarist in the old style" Bruce Iglauer, Alligator Records, US

"Kiwi slide guitarist extraordinaire" Radio Hauraki, New Zealand

"The real deal" HotFM, Australia

"One of the best country blues guiatrists we've heard in years" Good Time Blues Review, Argentina

"His combination of great finger picking, slide guitar and vocals gave us a night to remember when he was our guest last year and we are delighted to welcome him back to The Crossroads." www.towerofsong.co.uk/blues

Blues/jazz duo Pink Champagne will open the night for Ian. Pink Champagne have roots across the globe, but are currently located in Taranaki, New Zealand. They have just returned from Wellington, having played at wineries and blues clubs there. They have performed at the Mission Bay Streetfest in Auckland, the Bay of Islands and Whangarei Jazz and Blues Festivals, and the New Plymouth Festival of Lights. They have released four studio albums: Strike Me Pink!, Stick To Yer Guns!, Cruise Control and Back in Our Own Backyard, the first two being favourably reviewed in NZ Musician.
