The Auckland Single Parents Trust is a group of single parents in Auckland who advocate for single parents and organise events and educational activities for members. This event is open to the general public as well.
Come join us for an empowering, inspiring, informative presentation about children’s brain development. You’ll be blown away with the latest scientific knowledge and shown how the brain develops, how brain connections are formed and how experience shapes the brain.
You’ll be amazed at how important the secure attachment between you as a parent and your child is from conception and learn of the critical periods for learning skills and what to do.
You’ll gain insight into how abuse, trauma and neglect change the brain’s architecture and the effects of drugs, alcohol and stress on the unborn baby’s brain. Most importantly, you’ll know how to provide your child with the ‘brain-food’ they need to grow into happy, secure and well functioning adults.
Cost: Gold coin donation (if affordable)
Speaker: Susan Younger from Brainwaves
This event is presented by Auckland Single Parents Trust and Brainwaves Trust.
