This 5 day introductory course is designed to give students an insight into the methods and techniques taught on the 2-year full time Diploma in Animation Production course.

This course consists of practical exercises and students enjoy intensive hands-on experience in learning and using various animation techniques, equipment and facilities.

Participants will receive an introduction to essential animation techniques such as character design; inbetweening; key animation; flash animation & animation technical skills. The course also provides an introduction to the production practices of an animation studio.

Participants will learn how an animation scene is developed, technical planning and management of animation levels as they draw their own characters and animation, learn about movement and timing and then pencil test their own scene.

Tutors use both traditional methods and training techniques of classical drawing and cutting edge visual learning and tutorials. The course tutors will also take time to discuss and answer questions about animation industry careers and the content and training methods of the South Seas 2 year full time Diploma in Animation Production.
