People are being asked to dig deep into their pockets and get behind the Kaipara Launch of Project Promise. The project is to raise $3 million for a new oncology unit at Whangarei Hospital.

Project Promise has become a Lions district-wide project and the Dargaville Lions Club and the Northern Wairoa Lions are part of this project.

Sporting legends Dion Nash and wife Bernice Mene are expected to take part in the evening and will speak about the project. Several MPs have also been asked to attend but are yet to confirm. Entertainment will include performances by singing groups Kauri Chorus and Take Six.
