Christchurch Symphony Orchestra presents AMI Insurance Proms Series, Last Night of the Proms.

The traditional British concept created by Sir Henry Wood in 1895, receives an antipodean retrospective in this annual favourite for ex-pats, locals, visitors and families alike. Sir Henry Wood conducted the opening concert and continued to conduct the Promenade Concerts for more than half a century. He aimed to educate the musical taste of the public who were not used to listening to serious classical music. He succeeded beyond his dreams, and raised the standard of orchestral performance.

Fling your streamers, prepare to clap your hands and stamp your feet. The music will be irresistible and have you tapping your toes and humming along from the opening bars. This programme is a winner and you can be certain of leaving the auditorium with a light heart.
