The Canterbury Sports Awards are run annually by Sport Canterbury to recognise and celebrate Canterbury’s sporting achievements across all sports from grassroots through to elite.

The Awards give all sports the opportunity to highlight their achievements and provide a platform for minor sports to stand alongside major sports.

The Awards also acknowledge the contributions to sport of Canterbury’s sporting legends and in 2010 two more sporting heroes will be inducted as ‘Sporting Legends of Canterbury’.
