2010 is shaping up to be a boomer for local rockers Autozamm. Album ‘5th Degree’ Release - Third album ‘5th Degree’ was produced by Los Angeles native Krish Sharma (The Rolling Stones, The Cult, Perry Farrell, Counting Crows) who is considered to be one of the more versatile talents in music today. 5th Degree will be in stores from October 11.
“5th Degree is a massive leap for Autozamm, we have made a record that truly represents who we are as a band. I’m so proud of what we've achieved.” – Nick Major, singer.
"5th Degree is a pivotal album for us. Krish captured the true live performance essence of Autozamm. He rocked, we rocked.” - Stephen Small, keyboard.
"Autozamm is a great band which has two qualities which are a surprisingly rare combination these days - they write good songs and can play the f**k out of them." – Krish Sharma, Producer
Iconic new cover art - The cover for 5th Degree was conceptualised and created by award winning designer Barny Bewick at Indium Design. It harks back to the classic LP covers of the late '70s where captivating and arresting images were king. The image of two gagged diners, hungry but yet unable to eat, seated before a bounty of food in a back alley has the visual impact of the surreal in an everyday surrounding. After weeks of work the end result stands out as a classic cover - iconic, striking and timeless.
More About Autozamm - The Kiwi classics have performed with The Black Crowes, Seether, Powderfinger, Silverchair, INXS and Shihad. Previous album ‘Drama Queen’ included hit singles ‘Killer Shoes’ and ‘Closer To Home’.
Black River Drive:
Combining blistering guitar riffage with moments of calm clarity, Black River Drive is the sound of razorwire rock. Knockout riffs are coupled with strong, melodic songwriting and lyrics that pull no punches. Drawing influence from the raw rock’n’roll shake of Queens of the Stone Age and AC/DC through to the nihilistic ferocity of Nine Inch Nails, Black River Drive look set to carve their niche at the forefront of New Zealand rock.
Black River Drive's debut album Perfect Flaws explodes onto the NZ music scene on October 4th, 2010.
Black River Drive is songwriter/vocalist/guitarist Sam Browne along with Rosko McNaughton (bass), Mike Tan (drums) and Matt Stone (guitar).
