Uwe Grodd, New Zealand based German flautist and conductor, has performed and recorded internationally for over 25 years. 2006-08 was a very creative and exciting season for Uwe. In less than eighteen months, and across four countries, he has produced seven different recordings for Naxos Records: four CDs as a conductor and three as a flautist, performing his own editions of quartets for flute and strings by Johnann Baptist Vanhal and a disc by Schubert and Ferdinand Ries. The Vanhal world premier recording was greeted with enthusiasm:
“Fastidious Elegance! … Grodd’s strong projection of pure tone across all registers and finely contoured phrasing earns this distinctive flautist my great respect.”
NZ Listener
“... Attractive works and performances. Playing of deft sensitivity, full of proportion, equilibrium, expressive contouring and lyrical affection...”

Martin Rummel enjoys a successful career as a soloist and chamber musician. He is a regular at many of the world’s leading venues and festivals, where his performances of an exceptionally broad repertoire from the Baroque to the contemporary are acclaimed equally by audiences and critics. He has worked with some of the world’s most eminent composers, such as Schnittke, Gubaidulina and Pintscher, and has premiered more than 20 new works, amongst which are five cello concertos.
James Tibbles is one of New Zealand's leading exponents of historic keyboard instruments (harpsichord, fortepiano and organ). He is the founder/director of the early music chamber choir Cantus Firmus, which specialises in historically-aware performance of Renaissance and Baroque sacred choral repertoire. James is a member of the period instrument ensemble Extempore, which has established a fine reputation both in NZ and abroad for its vibrant performances of 18th century chamber music. He is also the Senior Lecturer in Early Music Performance and Performance Practice, Head of School and Director of Performance Studies at The University of Auckland.
