A verbatim play about family violence. Described as ‘extraordinary’ and ‘extra special’, Hush contains the testimonies of people who have experienced family violence as victims and/or perpetrators, as well as commentaries by representatives of agencies that deal with the issue and those directly affected by it.
The work articulates true New Zealand stories of abuse and hope. Six actors retell these stories listening to iPods that have the original interviews recorded on them, enabling them to speak the words as they hear them.
We encourage you to come - with your friends! - to see this ground-breaking play.
Following each performance there is a brief post-show discussion, providing an opportunity to ask questions about, and comment on aspects of the production and the process involved.
Running time: 70 minutes, no interval.
