The regatta will be centred on the Akaroa Recreation Ground and the harbour. On display and on the water will be a wide range of traditional and classic boats which have been restored or have been built as replicas of traditional and classical designs.
Most will be sailing craft but some steam launches and other powered craft are expected as well. All are of wooden construction and the restored boats being at least 40 years old. The oldest boat expected is a Logan launch built in Auckland in 1902.
Akaroa Harbour is a beautiful harbour in which to appreciate all boating activity. Come and enjoy the regatta and make a weekend of it.
