Acoustic Routes' Showcase Concert of members and friends, at the Ruby Lounge, features six acts:
The "South Coast Trainwrecks" - a six-piece band playing a mixture of folk, blues and rock, including some originals.
Josie and Friends - Josie, Nick, Mahina and Angela got together to record some of Josie's own songs. They are new to performing but have frequented festivals and fireside jams.
Kim Bonnington - Wellington based but grew up with the Tapawera Country Music Club. A winner of various country music awards. Major influences are Emmylou Harris, The Judds, Gillian Welch and Alison Kraus.
"The Toasters" - A trio of Wellington folkies, Mary Hubble, Kevin Ikin and Bob Silbery, who cooked up some hot stuff a few years back and have decided to pop up again, with a reportoire ranging from Cohen to Kiwi, Swing and originals.
"The Next Band" - Derek Burfield on bass, Nick Burfield on guitar and vocals and Mike Maguire on ukulele ,banjo and vocals, play a mixture of folk, swing, jazz, and blues with a nod to rock and roll. Nick writes some of the songs.
"Womansong" - A women's singing group formed this year. Led by Carol Shortis, they sing a wide variety of international material, from Hildegard to Andy Irvine and from the Hebrides to Aotearoa, accompanied by harp, drum and harmonium.
