Jo Burzynska is a respected wine judge, author and journalist, but she is also a sound artist and DJ who is as passionate about music as she is about wine.

While much has been written on the art of matching wine with food, the influence music has on wine is only starting to be explore, with some surprising results. Just as certain matches of food and wine bring out different nuances in both, synergies and mismatches can also exist between wines and music.

This session will take you through a wine tasting with a difference: a selection of musical tracks paired with six fabulous wines. Experience how music can alter the perception of a wine’s flavours, textures and even quality. Identify how musical moods and genres interact harmoniously with certain wine styles, while others clash quite noticeably.

This unique tasting is offered in association with Scenic Cellars in New Zealand's largest underground cellar.
