Takapuna Grammar comes to the Bruce Mason with Fiddler on the Roof, rich in the most memorable songs of any Broadway show. Remember “Matchmaker”? “If I were a rich man”? “Sunrise, Sunset”?
Tevye’s five daughters will need marrying and tradition demands a matchmaker sort these five problems for him. But when the girls choose love before duty Tevye must decide to excuse or forbid their preferred matches.
His wife Golde prefers tradition, but a scary dream changes her mind. The anti-Semitic Russians move to expel Tevye’s people from their home and a new son-in-law stands against the tide.
But yet another son-in-law is one of the enemy.
