TimTomMik is an 8 piece ensemble offering the arrangements and compositions of Tim Atkinson, Thomas Botting and Mike Booth.
Their individual styles are a Jazz journey influenced by the likes of Marty Paiche, Gil Evans and Dave Holland. The end result is a varied selection of great tunes, adventurous harmony and rhythms and a performance as edgy as it is satisfying.
Tim Atkinson has been active in a number of Auckland based pop and dub bands. He has been a regular member of the RFBB on lead Alto Sax and is currently co-directing the Auckland Jazz Orchestra. Mike Booth - Trumpet and Flugel. Mike is appearing more frequently on the Auckland Jazz scene after returning from the Netherlands two years ago. Mike performs with a wide range of groups – jazz and otherwise. Thomas Botting is on “shore leave” from a stint of ship work. He is one of New Zealand’s emerging musical leaders.
The band will also feature the formidable talents of Roger Manins on Tenor, Ross Hurley on Trombone, PJ Muir on Piano, Steve Thomas on Drums and Caroline Lynn on vocals.
