International Museum Day is an opportunity to celebrate the important role museums play in preserving our history, and encouraging an exploration of our future.
On International Museum Day, Auckland Museum is providing free tours of the galleries. Gain an inside knowledge of the Museum's remarkable collections from our guides.
Sunday 16 May, 11am-3pm. Tours leave every hour (45-minute duration).
Tour Schedule:
• 11am: Birds of New Zealand, World War I, Pacific treasures. By visitor request.
• 12pm: Pacific treasures, Birds of New Zealand, World War II, Aircraft in the Museum. By visitor request .
• 1pm: Origins Gallery, Maori Court, Pacific treasures, New Zealand art and design, Maori warfare
• 2pm: Origins Gallery, Birds of New Zealand, World War I, Aircraft in the Museum, Pacific Treasures.
• 3pm: World War I , Pacific Treasures, Maori natural history, New Zealand art and design, Maori warfare.
Free with admission.
