Once Were Warriors theme
The APO comes to Papakura to celebrate New Zealand musical talent by performing some of the best local music, as well as popular symphonic melodies.
Papakura High School student Jonathan Fuller introduces his spirited piece Pacifica – which aims to bring the different Pacific cultures together through music. The piece won the top prize in the 2008 Trust Secondary Composers’ Competition, while the concert finale is the iconic Once Were Warriors theme arranged for a full symphony orchestra - complete with solo from our electric guitar competition winner - Manukau City guitarist Johann Ward.
