Leila Adu is travelling to support her most recent album, “Dark Joan," that was produced with analogue fervour by the great Steve Albini (Nirvana, PJ Harvey, Joanna Newsom). Adu an artist of Ghanaian and British descent has produced three critically acclaimed albums, written for and sung with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, toured and received radio play around the globe and plays at Auckland's The Winecellar in duo with drummer, Chris O'Connor (SJD, Don McGlashan's Seven Sisters).
"Leila Adu's music is cryptic, edgy, oscillating between serious commentary and flippant experimentation." - Sheffield Telegraph
Beginning with the post punk rock trio Thela and moving through to his three solo recordings as White Winged Moth, Dean Roberts has marked himself as a guitarist of unique talents. Dean has lived and toured extensively in Australasia and Europe, playing with some of the heavyweights of electrical/acoustic improvisation and is joined by Jenny Lange at the Winecellar.
