The ukulele is making its comeback around the world and has hit the Hawke's Bay! To celebrate this the newly formed Hawke's Bay Ukulele Underground, is organising a ukulele event: Uked @ The Cabana. We will kick off with a "strum along", everybody plays together, music is provided, and you bring your own uke or buy one there! This will be followed by a special screening of The Mighty Uke, a documentary about the global resurgence of the ukulele in the 21st Century. The filmmakers have graciously given us permission to show it, as it hasn't been officially released to the public yet. And then it's time for local ukulele talent to reveal itself during the Open Mic and Performances part of the evening. For those who saw the Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra, Makoio Huata, the ukulele prodigy from Lindisfarne College will be making an appearance!

All of this will just be the first event coming from the Hawke's Bay Ukulele Underground, a group formed to connect ukulele players in the Bay to have fun and play the uke together.
